From the Commissioner: Welcome to the SPURTS Preseason

Fans,

The SPURTS Preseason is officially open.

The Sheets are live, the boards are waking up, and somewhere our twerpy little mascot (Spurty) is probably doing something that requires a waiver.

SPURTS was built for people who don’t just “watch sports.” That phrase has never really covered it. Sports are bigger than the game. They are the comeback, the collapse, the group chat, the bad call, the parade, the heartbreak, the old highlight you still pull up for no reason, the jersey you never throw away, the city that loses its mind together, and the friend who still brings up that playoff loss from twelve years ago.

That is the world SPURTS is built around.

It is a daily sports knowledge game and fan community where the whole culture of sports becomes playable. The stats, the stories, the history, the rivalries, the weird moments, the legends, the memes, the arguments, the triumph, the defeat, the sweat, the tears, all of it.

In other words...

Sports fandom, finally playable.

Every day, you play a short Daily Sheet made up of quick sports puzzles called Spurts. Some test memory. Some test instinct. Some test whether you actually know the moment or just remember yelling during it.

You earn Sparks, climb the boards, build your profile, and start tracking your own little corner of the sports universe.

Because that is really the point: your sports life finally has a scoreboard.

Not your team’s life. Yours.

The games you remember. The sports you follow. The eras you love. The players you never forgot. The championships that made you believe. The losses that turned you into a different person at Buffalo Wild Wings.

SPURTS gives that fandom a place to live.

You can play the Daily Sheet, build streaks, compare scores, challenge friends, recruit your Crew, and follow the action through The Wire, our community feed for sports culture, hot takes, polls, Front Office notes, ridiculous moments, and whatever fresh nonsense the sports world produces before lunch.

And yes, there is more coming.

The National Spurts League is a bigger league vision. You build a record, develop your profile, and eventually compete in a team-based sports knowledge league built around skill, consistency, and showing up. You manage a team, or become a free agent to get drafted, signed, traded, or released. Fans become the players.

Metro Madness Tourney brings city pride into the arena. Metro against metro. Fan base against fan base. A (mostly) civilized way to determine which city has the sharpest sports fans, and also a very efficient way to ruin a group chat.

SPURTS Bar Live takes the game into the real world with bars and eatertainment experiences. Watch parties, events, rivalry nights, playoff chaos, and live fan competitions. Maybe you go bowling, or Top Golf, or the arcade... SPURTS Bar Live is the next experience. Think: trivia night after it found a gym, read a box score, and got a little frisky.

This preseason is our Open Beta.

That means SPURTS is live, but it is still being shaped. Modes will improve. Features will grow. The boards will get sharper. The community will get louder. The mascot will hopefully stay humble.

Things might break at times. You'll be annoyed. And you'll tell us, and we'll fix it. Your feedback matters now because early players are not just playing the game. You are helping us build the culture.

SPURTS is not a sportsbook. It is not a pick’em app. It is not gambling dressed up in a novelty mustache. We'd love to be those things someday, but let's be honest... that is a regulation headache we don't want to deal with (yet).

SPURTS is wholeheartedly built as a skill-based sports knowledge platform and fan community. Sparks are virtual points, prizes will follow official rules where available, and VIP is about extended experience, not buying wins.

Play your Sheets. Earn Sparks. Build your record. Recruit your Crew. Climb the Boards. Talk a little trash. Keep it mostly clean, legal, or we'll moderate you with painful administrative powers.
